While many kitchen designers are based in cabinet stores or appliance outlets, Deborah Krasner is one of very few designers who work entirely independently. This is a great benefit for clients, since it means that she has no financial interest in client choices, and can make impartial recommendations based on real needs. It also means that she can work anywhere in North America, using the internet, FedEx, fax, and phone to communicate with clients and help them make great kitchens wherever they are. With satisfied clients from Florida, Pennsylvania, Michigan, New Mexico, Arizona, New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont, Kitchens for Cooks can truly claim to be far-ranging in vision and scope.
Although Deborah Krasner usually works directly with homeowners, she's been honored to work in cooperation with a number of distinguished architects, and has been gratified to be referred by them to other architects and designers. Because her focus is exclusively kitchens, and is based on long culinary and design experience, she offers a useful adjunct to other design professionals involved in a project.
Whether your style is modern or traditional, folk art or French country, high tech or Tuscan, Kitchens for Cooks can help you design the perfect kitchen for the way you really live. Starting with "kitchen geography" to locate the best place for appliances and storage, and moving into specialized cabinet inserts and planning, then to storage maps, lighting, flooring, materials choices, and counter top options, Kitchens for Cooks will aid you every step of the way. Whether you want copper pans, basket drawers, a wood fired bread and pizza oven, an indoor grill, or an island that looks like a farmhouse table, Kitchens for Cooks can help you locate sources, evaluate options, and integrate your ideas into a kitchen that will really work.
Services Available
Blueprint Review
For those already far along in the design process who want a new and knowledgeable
eye to be cast over about-to-be constructed plans, Deborah Krasner offers blueprint review
services. For a flat fee of $750, she looks extremely closely at a plan of the proposed kitchen, asking lots of questions and offering ideas and suggestions. Often she'll call the client with some of these questions; she will also call the architect or builder if appropriate. A sample blueprint review is available. It was based on a short profile the client e-mailed, along with the plan from the architect, and a subsequent conversation with the architect by telephone. The Review Report is sent to the client by U.S. Mail and/or e-mail, and Krasner is available for further questions by e-mail or telephone while planning is still in progress.
As a Certified Culinary Professional (CCP), Deborah Krasner combines design skills with deep understanding and experience in cooking. Kitchens designed by Kitchens for Cooks reflect a real commitment to making workable kitchens for cooking and the pleasures of the table.
Full Service Kitchen Design
Deborah Krasner designs kitchens from coast to coast, making an initial site visit, and as many more visits as necessary. She works with local builders and architects via telephone, fax, the Internet, and overnight delivery, just as she works with clients over the telephone and via e-mail. Each kitchen is different, and reflects the desires and requirements of each family. Krasner has a cabinetmaker that she recommends who can deliver cabinets anywhere in the USA, but she also works with stock cabinets and local furniture makers. The same goes for appliances -- she can make recommendations (often saving homeowners money in the process), but she has no stake in their choices. Process.
